Arizona State University invites nominations and applications for Director, Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness. The Director of the Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness is responsible for developing and articulating a vision for the unit, and implementing strategies necessary to achieve it. The Director is responsible for all personnel, curricular, and budgetary decisions. Principal priorities include providing research leadership, recruiting students, fund raising, and fostering relationships both within ASU and the W. P. Carey School of Business and, externally, with the local, state, national and international business and agribusiness communities. The director will be responsible for leading a program committed to achieving national and international leadership in agribusiness research and education.
The successful candidate must possess a post-graduate degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, business or a related field and have a strong record of academic leadership at a major research university. Must have demonstrated written and verbal communication skills for professional and non-professional audiences. Must have strong interpersonal skills and a record of partnership building with alumni, faculty, staff, and students and be experienced in maintaining and expanding links with the agribusiness community, both nationally and internationally, and other stakeholders relevant to the mission of an academic program.
Desired qualifications include experience in shared governance with faculty, staff, students, and administrators and in managing budgets for a complex organization. Successful candidates should have demonstrated experience in attracting, managing and conducting competitively-funded research, and experience in speaking before external and internal audiences. Knowledge of and experience with international agribusiness markets and institutions is also desired.
